Buddy Spotlight π« ➡️ ~Laila
Today, I’m really excited because I’m publishing my first-ever blog post, officially snipping the golden ribbon with a pair of scissors π️✂️.
I’m glad to finally launch this blog and set off on this yet-to-be-defined journey ππ
That being said, let’s get on with today’s beeswax. If you’ve read the How This Blog Works page, then you already know what happens on Mondays: it’s time for our very first Buddy Spotlight π« episode/chapter/whatever. (And if you haven’t read that page, you should probably check it out.) So, without further ado, it is with great pleasure I present to you the star of today’s spotlight: Laila!
Who else deserves the honor of being the very first to step into the spotlight, if not the one who gave me the most support to bring this blog to life? Laila offered tons of emotional support and just the right dose of motivation for me to finally get this started. So I’m more than happy to talk about her today.
Have you ever seen someone from afar, made a snap judgment, then got to know them and realized they’re completely different—maybe even the exact opposite—of what you imagined?
Laila is a perfect example of that.
She sometimes dresses like an FBI agent, other times like a mafioso, but in reality, she’s a sweet, friendly, harmless, and joy-filled girl—with excellent listening skills to top it off.
She might pull off that corporate tomboy look like a total boss (and trust me, it looks amazing on her), but the only truly tomboyish thing about her is that she plays basketball—and her favorite color isn’t pink.
Other than that, she’s as girly as they come.
I’ve always been amused by the contrast between her outer styles and her actual personality—it’s fascinating.
But Laila is much more to me than just a super stylish dresser. She’s one of the most important friends I’ve made since entering university. She’s not just an amazing listener (a trait surprisingly rare in her gender, let’s be honest), she’s also been a hugely positive influence on my life—and I couldn’t be more grateful for that.
Also, I don’t know many girls who can rock a suit like she can. π₯
Laila, if you’re reading this—shout-out to you, and thanks for being my friend! π
